TECHNICAL DESIGNER, FREELANCE

Everlane is seeking a technical designer with experience in luxury fashion to oversee development of ready to wear pieces (knits, woven, sweaters). We aim to create a highly edited collection of quintessential pieces for men and women.
You will be responsible for developing technical packages and evaluating garments for consistent fit and construction coordinating between patternmaker and designer. You will also work directly with factories to ensure on spec production and coordinate with overseas development as necessary, referencing patterns and technical packages.
This position is freelance and is in Los Angeles. Ideal candidate has 4+ years with a fashion brand and has worked with multiple overseas factories.
Responsibilities
·         Manage development of knits, wovens, knitwear pieces
·         Develop specification packages based on sketches/ samples with designer
·         Oversee development from 1st pattern to final sample for final pattern
·         Evaluate the fit of each sample on live fit models working with designers and patternmaker; suggest alternative construction
·         Spec out samples to ensure construction based on measurements
·         Ongoing evaluation of factory production to ensure garments are to spec and finishing details match Everlane standards
·         Work with overseas vendors to develop samples and ensure garment construction is developed to spec and within tolerances
·         Maintain fast-paced product development calendar and organize file system
Qualifications
·         3-5 years technical design experience with a top luxury fashion brand
·         Significant experience and skill in draping fabrics and fit
·         Thorough understanding of pattern-making process & garment construction in Woven, Knit and Sweater categories
·         • Experience working with overseas vendors
·         • Strong planning skills with a sense of priority for deadlines
·         • Fast paced worker that is highly organized and detail oriented
·         • Experience or knowledge of pattern making software (Gerber) is a plus

Quality Assurance Coordinator

Since launching in November 2011, Everlane has attracted over 200,000 members.  Everlane is funded by Kleiner Perkins, SV Angel and notable angel investors.
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator to help our production team create the finest luxury goods and fashion apparel. As a critical member of the Everlane team, you will work with our Head of Production to establish our company’s quality and technical standards and ensure they are met by each of our factories and production partners.

The ideal candidate has worked in fashion production for 4 years as a Quality Auditor. The position is part-time and located in Los Angeles. 

Responsibilities:
o      Oversee approval process on all Everlane garments based on pre-established criteria, guidelines, and quality standards
o      Conduct regular audits and monitor the quality of new products throughout various stages of production
o      Take part in product development and sampling stages for all existing and new product collections
o      Visit our Los Angeles factories and perform inspection tests throughout the process (sewing, cutting, trimming)
o      Create quality analysis reports and designate areas for production improvement

Qualifications:

o 2-4 years as a Quality Auditor with a fashion/ apparel company
o Highly organized
o Ability to multi-task
o Able to work in a fast-paced environment
